Ford Explorer Performance Features

The Ford Explorer comes with four different powertrain options. There are also a few new EcoBoost engines that are more energetic and fun to drive with the latest release. The newest Explorer was fully redesigned including all of the engine trims. In the base trim, you’ll get a turbocharged 2.3-liter engine with a four-cylinder. It puts out 300 horsepower and has two other trims if you want to upgrade, including the XLT and Limited.

The Explorer gets 28 mpg with the base engine. The same engine powers up the Explorer ST, allowing for 400 horsepower output. It’s one of the best engines in the midsize SUV class, and that’s why the Explorer is better than most of the competitors in the same class. There’s also a hybrid model that includes a 3.3-liter V6 engine, and there’s an electric trim that puts out 318 horsepower.
